NPI sub-part

Hospitals and Facilities- An Organization may ‘sub-part’ themselves.  A sub-part is a separate physical location or a component of that organization such as an outpatient department surgical centers, etc.  Each of those sub-parts may have an organization NPI.  Regence recommends you align your sub-part
NPI(s) to your current billing number(s) if there are different pricing arrangements based on the Regence billing number  assignment.

Other Organizations- Durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, pharmacies, etc.  These organizations may have a corporate headquarters and a number of separate physical locations.  The separate physical locations are generally separately certified or licensed.  These would be considered ‘sub-parts’ and may have their own organization NPI.
