Regence receives eValue8™ scores

The eValue8 common request for information (RFI) tool is a product of the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH), a national, non-profit, membership organization of nearly 60 employer-based health care coalitions, representing over 7,000 employers and approximately 25 million employees and their dependents across the United States.

Through the support of NBCH member coalitions, eValue8 is maintained and modified to reflect the needs of employer health care purchasers. Content for the survey is coordinated using input from employers, coalitions, and health plans; and incorporates guidance from leading health care quality experts.

Currently, over 100 health plans respond to the annual request for information. Widespread adoption of eValue8 has been the catalyst for improved:

  • Efficiency
  • Innovation
  • Health plan performance
  • Community collaboration

The Oregon Coalition of Health Care Purchasers (OCHCP), a member of the NBCH, has adopted this tool and is committed to promoting its use among their large group clients in Oregon. Regence BCBSO was approached by the OCHCP to participate in the eValue8 RFI on an annual basis. This is Regence BCBSO's third year participating in the eValue8 RFI, and we are pleased to report that our scores have continued to increase each year.

The eValue8 tool gathers hundreds of benchmarks in critical areas such as:

  • Behavioral health
  • Plan administration
  • Consumer engagement
  • Provider measurements
  • Pharmaceutical management
  • Chronic disease management
  • Prevention and health promotion
