835 Remittance Advice Enhancements

Beginning July 25, 835s will include the following enhancements:

• Secondary claim reporting
• Addition of Paid Units of Service
• Improved accuracy of PLB qualifiers
• Improved reporting of bundled services
• Claim level message codes in MIA/MOA segments
• Addition of alpha prefixes to member identification numbers
• Improved accuracy of message codes (CARCs and RARCs)
• Reversals now accurately display specific amounts reversed in CAS segments
• Institutional providers will see the addition of claim level reporting for inpatient diagnosis related group (DRG) claims with accurate DRG weight
• Addition of Line Item Control Number will be captured from inbound claims beginning July 25 for return on 835s as those claims complete the adjudication process
